Are there 300 total or 300 in each color? Thanks!
Landaron
Of this original release it is 300 total. The re-release I am unsure of numbers.
Thohelm
There are 300 total copies. Not known if there are an equal number of each of the five colours of sleeves. Probably not.
Castiel
A powerful beat combo such as this, have rereleased a classic album, with many wonderful melodies that are certain to delight, and enthrall all listeners in their new, remastered form. I certainly was very pleased with this selection of remastered compositions, as it does not feel like a cynical cash grab, whatsoever!!
Ielonere
Pre-ordered the black vinyl, but was sent this today instead. Gave it a listen. Sounds great, beautiful color too!
MisTereO
Their website sold out of the colored pressing, but you can get it at their bandcamp:https://explosionsinthesky.bandcamp.com/album/how-strange-innocence-anniversary-edition

Lightwind
Thanks! You helped me get the record and save on shipping.

Austin's Explosions In The Sky have become known for dramatic mini guitar symphonies that carry with them a special, nimble charm that is accessible for the masses. Their later material reined-in, and sometimes expanded on this concept, but in my opinion, this, their debut album still remains their unequivocal best. Which is in stark contrast to the bands' own feelings, as they've regularly expressed a certain level of embarrassment over the record. They had been in the band for less than a year, none of them had been in a studio before, and it shows. When they eventually got signed for their second album, the band remembers: "The four of us were convinced that we had made a terrible mistake thinking that we could record an album that a label would actually send to stores for people to buy."But through this guilelessness—or Innocence, if you will—they managed to take seven impressionistic song-sketches, and color them with life. In these seven peaks and valleys, we find so much hope, so much joy, and so much vulnerability. There is heart and passion, while also retaining a certain looseness that could have only come from a youthful band that was unsure of what they were really tapping into, but going ahead with it anyway. The bare heart captured on this album does far more than any 'technique' they may have cultivated as their career moved forward. Of course they may have gotten 'tighter' or 'more professional' by some standards. But on this one, they give it their youthful best and after two days of recording, one mixing, and one mastering, we arrive at the other end with a deeply profound, somehow erudite statement. Each song is a gem, each moment a treasure.

To anyone who actually has a copy, what is the sound quality like?
Kajishakar
Sound quality is great, but the mastering is horrible... I really like it, though, the inexperience shows. At times the audio isn't balanced properly and there are hard cuts between tracks. It's not the same experience, but there's a high quality 24b 102.4kS/s version available on everyone's favorite pirate themed tracker.
Runeterror
I have a copy and have been toying with selling it on and off for about two years every time I need cash! So hard as I know it's 'special'. My copy has never been played. Ever. Only been out of the case a few times to show off. When I see copies going for as high as $800 (£550) I always consider it!
Doath
Would be interested in bidding! Which colour cover do you have?
DarK-LiGht

I'm a Russian Occupant
which variant do you have? Does your post mean you are currently considering to sell your copy?
Bradeya
I didn't realize any of this. I can only dream to hear magic hours on vinyl one day...
Tiainar

Search everone's favorite pirate-themed tracker, and ye shall find a copy ;).
Memuro
This is literally the only press I want. I can't find it anywhere and no one is willing to sell it. I can't imagine how much a signed one goes for.
Onath
I sold my copy in 2008 on eBay for around $300. Regret it everyday.
Hellstaff
holy shit, just seeing this comment now. That's so awesome. Feel free to let me borrow it anytime you're bored with it =)
Damdyagab
To answer your question more directly (with outdated information): I sold a signed gray copy with rough edges for just under $500 back in 2013... that was way below others on the market at that time. I gave up records, but otherwise would have kept it forever.
Celace
I got my gray copy signed by Chris, Michael, Mark and Munaf at a show they did in Mississippi way back when. This was circa 2006ish and after the show they were all beat and didn't want to be bothered by fans... Mark was taking a shower or something, so only the other three were signing anyway... but then I whipped out by baby, and Munaf says "Chris, go tell Mark we have a record he needs to come sign." So a few minutes later Mark rolls out and he says "wow, where did you get that! We don't even have a copy between the four of us!" Here's a picture of the signed copy: http://bayimg.com/JAIGdAAGmAnd here's an image of the insert (included on three colors only, including gray):http://bayimg.com/jAIGFaAgm

I used to have this CD. I lent it to a friend and never got it back. I regret that day very much.
zzzachibis
Well, that is one hell of a friend you got there.
Golkree
Time to reissue this release. PLEASE!
I love Mercedes
Yes it's damn time for a reissue now. Come on...
Nalme
Meh. To be honest, I just don't care too much for this band. I feel like this band is just jumping on the bandwagon with the 'post-rock' genre. I mean, the rhythms and structure is just repetitive and boring to listen to. I fall asleep to this stuff, but not in a good way at all. It's really a chore to listen to. Same goes for all of their stuff. I understand why most people like them, though, and that's fine. But, I tried them out and I don't like what I'm hearing. One song from each of their albums is enough for me to stomach.
Cordaron
Thanks for that info, Bean! Thank you for specifically talking about the album and not just some pointless comment about the bandOh wait...
Nirad
Sorry, but when you say "jumping on the bandwagon" it just shows your ignorance. Thanks for letting us know you don't like this band. You should do that for every band you don't like. It will be riveting.
Mayno
This LP is one of the hardest to track down. Most who end up with one tend to keep it with pride and joy. I imagine many copy's of this relic have perished since the time of there limited 300 pressing, most of which were sold at the shows during the bands first tours. If you have one of these, vacuum seal it, put it away and don't listen to it any more. Its really that special.
Jieylau
If you're gonna do that, you may as well sell it.
Mezilabar
Kind of can't argue with your "vacuum seal it, put it away and don't listen to it... it's that special" comment. This would definitely be one of the pinnacles of my collection if I can ever get a hold of it.
Qusserel
so you were the one that paid $662,00 on ebay for it :)
Prorahun
I just bought a copy of one of these blues guys and could not be prouder/happier. If you really are on the look out just keep your eyes open all the time. I NEVER thought I would find one but here I am. :D
